As a recent-entrant to the home-ownership market, I feel uniquely (maybe, not so much uniquely) qualified to share a little of my experience on the past, present, and future of this grand adventure I’ve embarked upon. I’ve been dipping my toes into the REAL ESTATE market for a number of years now, poking, prodding, and trying to understand how it all works. I’d like to share that knowledge with you.

And now, with a big empty house of my own (and my wife, of course, to share it with me) we’ve got a number of really big chores on our hands: decoration and renovation, LANDSCAPE DESIGN, basement framing, drywall, priming, painting, and finishing, and all those other tasks that follow buying a new house. Not to mention, I’ve got a whopping mortgage that we’d like to pay off in this lifetime. (Did I say mortgage? I meant I think we sold our soul to the bank and the broker!) But we have a house now. And we love it!

In my real life, I work in research for a local government-funded lab. I may also have a few opinions on science, medicine, and genetics (and, of course, a few words about any hobby reading I do in a special interest of mine: quantum physics). Stay tuned for that.

Anyhow, I hope you’ll follow along on my adventures here co-operative blogging, and I hope some of this information will be useful. If you have any advice, comments, or you just want to say hi, leave me a comment on one of my (relevant posts) and I’ll try my best to answer your questions in my next entry.
