Good-Bye Mr. Wizard

The scientist in me wants to take this opportunity to say a sad farewell to the man who (likely) single-handedly help change the public perception of science for multiple generations and inspired numerous youth to turn their fascination with “making a great big mess of the kitchen” into meaningful careers in research and science. Don Herbert, better known as the uber-geek Mr. Wizard, died recently.

Shows, spanning the 1950s to the 1990s including Watch Mr. Wizard, Mr. Wizard, and Mr. Wizard’s World, had kids, including my younger self, glued to the television to see the latest project.
